Homeless and inadequately housed people are suffering because of the the poor supply of council and Housing Association properties caused in part by right to buy significantly reducing social housing supply.

Tackling the growing housing crisis needs the right to buy to be abolished so public money for social housing construction is not wasted. Too much public housing has been sold to tenants who then on-sell at a profit, often to private landlords, who raise rents and fail to maintain the property.
